Verify a Recording

Enter a session ID to view the cryptographic chain of custody and verify that a recording has not been tampered with.

Enter the session ID from your recording. You can find this in the Verity app's session history.

How Verification Works

1

Each Chunk Gets a Hash

Video is split into small chunks. Each is hashed using SHA-256, creating a unique fingerprint.

2

Hashes Form a Chain

Each chunk's record links to the previous hash. If any chunk is modified, the chain breaks.

3

Relay Signs the Record

Our relay digitally signs each attestation, proving when it was received and that it hasn't been modified.

4

Verify the Chain

Anyone with the session ID can verify. If all hashes link and signatures are valid, the recording is intact.

Technical Note

Attestation proves integrity, not truth. It can demonstrate that a recording hasn't been altered since upload, but cannot prove the content is an accurate representation of events. Admissibility in legal proceedings depends on many factors and is determined by courts.
