Why do you need donations?

Verity is free to use. We don't track users or sell data. Donations cover infrastructure costs and, as the project grows, will fund security audits and accessibility improvements. The service currently runs on donated infrastructure and volunteer development time — donations help ensure that's sustainable long-term.

Do I get anything for donating?

No special features or benefits. Verity is the same for everyone, donor or not. What you get is the knowledge that you are helping keep a privacy-focused tool free and available for people who need it.

Why no premium tiers or donor perks?

Verity has no user accounts by design. We cannot track who donated because we do not track users at all. This is a feature, not a limitation. Your privacy matters more than gamified donation tiers.

Can I use Verity without donating?

Yes! Verity is completely free. The service is identical for all users. Donations are entirely optional and only serve to keep the project running long-term.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Currently, Verity is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are not tax-deductible. We may pursue nonprofit status in the future.

Can I cancel my recurring donation?

Yes, you can cancel anytime. Use the "Manage your subscription" link at the bottom of this page, enter the email you donated with, and we'll send you a link to manage or cancel your donation. No account needed.

How do I know my donation is being used well?

We publish monthly transparency reports showing infrastructure costs, development progress, and donation totals. We also publish detailed documentation of our architecture and privacy model so you can understand exactly how we work. Check our transparency page for the latest report.
